Learning and Working with SHAFE Frameworks
October 3rd, 2024 9.00–13.00 hours
Warmoesberg 26, Brussels (BE)
As part of the International Conference on Using Social Innovation to Implement Inclusive Environments and SHAFE Communities in EU Regions, young researchers and innovators are invited to participate in a focused workshop on Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments (SHAFE) frameworks. This exclusive session is designed for participants under 40 years of age who are eager to integrate SHAFE’s interdisciplinary approaches into their professional careers.
SHAFE promotes an inclusive society by conceptualising smart, multidisciplinary solutions that enhance participation, health, and well-being for all. It aims to foster environments that combine social, physical, and digital innovations, contributing to healthier, more equitable, and caring communities. Originating from a grassroots movement in Europe, SHAFE is driven by a belief in the power of innovation to improve health equity, sustainability, and autonomy across the lifespan—regardless of age, gender, disabilities, or cultural background.
Participants in this workshop will gain first-hand experience in using the SHAFE Frameworks of Reference and Social Innovation, developed by COST Action NET4Age-Friendly and Horizon CSA SIRENE. These frameworks offer crucial insights into innovation, best practices, funding strategies, and sustainable development within SHAFE communities. The workshop provides a valuable platform for young researchers to engage with these tools, fostering skills that will enhance their contributions to creating inclusive, adaptable environments in their future research careers.
This event is a unique opportunity for young professionals to deepen their understanding of SHAFE’s impact at local and regional levels, through interactive, face-to-face learning sessions. It is a chance to gain practical knowledge that can be applied in diverse fields—whether in academia, public policy, or social innovation.
