WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities is a global community that works together towards a vision of an age-friendly world. Age-friendly World creates a place for people and organizations all over the world to share what they know and learn from others.A city or community can remain a member of the Network for as long as they can demonstrate continual improvement against developed indicators.

Overview: 
Cities and communities are increasing where older people are living. The physical and social environments in our cities and communities are powerful influences on the experience of ageing and the opportunities that ageing affords. Cities and communities around the world are already taking steps towards becoming more age-friendly. An age-friendly world is possible and will be built by all of us - community by community, city by city, and region by region. This initiative supports a global community that works together towards this vision of an age-friendly world. Age-friendly World creates a place for people and organizations all over the world to share what they know and learn from others.

Objectives: 
Knowledge sharing and best practices identification to help cities/communities to support and maintain health in all their ages.

Initiatives: 
Best-practices and case studies are shared among multiple cities across the World, including countries in development. It combines multiple domains of action and expertise.

Voluntary Network which may hinder effective participation/impact. Lacks information regarding recent activities.
