Stroke Association UK - Online co-designed materials for people with aphasia
Overview:
This user-led project produced freely available leaflets with accompanying videos to help people get online and use technology. It was developed with people with communication difficulties after a stroke (aphasia) but is also useful for people who do not have communication difficulties.
Objectives:
To provide freely available step-by-step guides (leaflets and videos) to help people get online. It was user-led designed and accessible for people with and without communication difficulties.
Initiatives:
These resources were developed with people who have communication difficulties and includes older adults. The resources are freely available to download and include video instructions as well as written leaflets to ensure they are accessible to people with literacy difficulties.
Shortcomings:
Although it was developed with input from the people who will use it, in the future it would be useful to have come case studies of people using the guides. It will also need to keep up-to-date with technology advances.
